Salle Reopening Requirements.

Please read this post and then fill in this form - https://forms.gle/QzQcrifUJrpkgjRd6

If you do not fill in the form then you cannot train for the time being.

Once you have filled in the form I shall contact you about class schedules, memberships, etc. This way we can get everything sorted out before you come in and so we can get straight to training with ease!

Look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Reopening requirements

1. For the time being, everyone needs to have their own gear. If you're really desperate, we can do installment plans on whatever you need. Just ask ๐Ÿ™‚

2. We will restart with private lessons, and Cohort training.

2.1. What is Cohort training?

  • Partners will strictly train with each other during classes and are making a commitment that they are remaining as socially distant as possible outside the gym as well.

  • Partners WILL REMAIN socially distant in class from other pairs. No exceptions. -Partners will wear only clean gear and clothes etc. Keep nails trimmed. No stinky jackets are allowed. Wash them after use!!

  • Partners will commit to their training schedule. If one doesnโ€™t show the other will NOT be paired up with someone new.

  • Please make sure you temperature checks, hand washing, hand sanitizing, no symptoms for 14 days.

  • If coughing, sneezing, etc (unless you are 100% sure it is allergies) refrain from the gym and your partner.

  • You and your partner will pre-register for class. See below for details.

2.2. What is recommended:

  • To be tested if possible. I understand that testing access is getting more limited and so it may not be something you can actually do at this time

  • You can still train if you cannot get tested. Everyone will be required to wear a face mask while on the premises. This means both while you have a fencing mask on and when you do not have a fencing mask on.

  • Stay smart. Use common sense. We all want to train and one mistake or oversight could take that all away from us again.

3. How will this work? For the time being NO walk inโ€™s will be allowed.

3.1. Private Lessons

3.1.1. There will be time set aside in the schedule for times for everyone to be able to get a private lesson. These lessons will be 20 minutes long. They can be in any weapon you would like.

3.1.2. You can ONLY do a private lesson with your assigned partner. This can take the form of a lesson, or coached sparing.

3.1.3. You and your partner will have to sign up for the private lesson before coming to the salle.

3.2. Cohort Training

3.2.1. These will be held in the evening for an hour each class. 50 minutes of lesson plus 10 minute turn around time between classes. They will be specifically drill orientated.

3.2.2. You must be assigned a partner. So I need your schedule info beforehand in order to partner you up. You can request a partner.

3.2.3. If you show up to Cohort Training and have not been assigned a cohort you will not be able to participate until you have a cohort assigned to you.

3.2.4. If your schedule is hectic and unpredictable I understand this will be hard, but this is a temporary adjustment. I will take 2 hectic schedules and place them as cohorts so you can try to plan training out accordingly with them.

3.2.5. You will both have to sign up for the same class time before coming to the salle.

4. Fully reopening with a complete class schedule and free fencing?

4.1. This will depend on many things, but mostly getting the all clear from the medical profession to do so.

4.2. When we do so the requirements shall all end and you will be allowed to come to all classes and free fencing

4.3. Expect that even if we do get the all clear that we may have to go back to restricted classes, etc should we be told to. I am hopeful for a good treatment but it will be months out at the earliest. A Vaccine is unlikely until 2021 at the absolute earliest. So contractions and retractions of class schedule should be expected. Up to and including having to stop classes for a while again.

Additional Points

  • In order for this community to thrive and continue we need to keep any changes in health transparent. If after beginning training again you find that you have contracted COVID-19 it is expected that you will, at a minimum, contact me so that I can contact the appropriate members that they should know that they may have been exposed to the disease and may want to get themselves tested again.

  • Self-monitor and be symptom free for at least 14 days prior to any in-person club activity.

  • Stay home if you have had close sustained contact in the last 14 days with anyone who was sick or known or believed to have COVID-19.

  • Stay home if you are sick or do not feel well.

  • Provide a note from doctor stating that you are cleared to participate in club activities if you have had a case of COVID-19.

  • Wash and sanitize your hands often.

  • Avoid touching your face, eyes or mouth with unclean hands.

  • Practice social distancing where appropriate.

  • Wear a face mask to reduce exposure to airborne contaminated particles and reduce exposure to others.

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow if you cough or sneeze.

  • Refrain from attending any activity if experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.

  • Comply with all safety measures applicable to or prescribed by the club.

  • Come to the club already dressed in freshly washed workout clothing. Clothing should be suitable for public display and to wear under fencing uniforms, such that uniforms can be put on at the club without the need for private changing rooms. Uniforms should be taken home and washed after practice, not left in the club.

  • Do not share equipment such as weapons, fencing masks, gloves or uniforms, with others.

  • It is required to wear a surgical or cloth mask covering nose and mouth, even under fencing masks.

  • Refrain from contacting other participants and attendees (hand shakes, body contact, etc.).

  • Drink your own water. Do not share.
